I’ve been with Bluehost forever, like 20 years forever. We decided to go with Bluehost for the non-profit I was with at the time. They were a cute little start up with a promising future–and affordable for a non-profit. They were so great at work, I switched all my personal web world to bluehost as well.
Plans have changed over the years and prices have gone up, but I hung in there. I did a three-year renewal last time, which expires in 2025. The other day I was curious as to when my current run expires and Discovered my plan is going to renew at $1100 (for three years) or $419.76 for one year. I’ve got a bunch of email for various domains, a couple of joke WordPress sites, and a whole lot of forwarded domains to sites hosted at third-party like etsy or shopify. I stopped doing major websites years ago. So that’s a whole lot of no!
I’ve got one year to find a new webhost that allowed a bunch of emails accounts and a couple joke WordPress sites for cheap. I’ll chronical that here.
